The Musuem of Everything
“Now complete with an art exhibition, Selfridges really has become a one stop shop for just about everything.”
Selfridges, 400 Oxford Street, London W1U 1AT | More information
The Museum of Everything is one of Europe's most dynamic new museums. This exhibition – its fourth – sees it move away from its previous site in Primrose Hill and instead, take up residency in its most intriguing setting yet: Selfridges department store.
So what will you find? Within the dimly-lit rooms beneath the main store, there are over 200 unseen works of international art, mostly by people who suffer a variety of psychological, neurological or physical problems. This exhibition thus joins the ever-prevalent questions regarding the definition of art, highlights the roles of museums, galleries and societies, and challenges willing viewers.
And for those who fear leaving Selfridges without a yellow bag, The Shop of Everything has lots to offer including Project 6, a fashion collaboration with Clements Ribeiro and the Museum’s own label, Everything Ltd.
